WATCH SQUARE ONE’S STORY
Our candidates redefine what’s possible.
NEW OPPORTUNITIES
Square One seeks out long-overlooked red districts and states, identifies compelling and diverse candidates, and creates the infrastructure needed for them to win. Ushering in a new generation of political leadership is a long-term project, so we take risks and invest in places that may take more than one election cycle to flip blue.
BREAKING BARRIERS
For far too long, women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community have been underestimated and excluded from the halls of power. By supporting diverse candidates and providing them with the necessary tools to run for office, Square One is working to create a government that truly represents the people it serves.
A HANDS-ON APPROACH
Square One is with our candidates from day one, providing the connections, resources, and on-the-ground support to launch, run, and win their campaigns. From hiring campaign staff, to brokering endorsements, to mapping out field plans, Square One is with our candidates every step of the way.

Lucy McBath has championed gun control — and so much more

Ruben Gallego won a key US Senate seat in Arizona
The son of immigrants and a Marine Corps vet, Ruben’s powerful, uplifting campaign message resonated with Arizona voters even when Democrats nationally were struggling to break through.
Liuba Grechen Shirley became a champion for working moms
Square One breaks down barriers for exceptional candidates to run for office. Now, moms everywhere can run for office because Liuba’s story changed the game.
“My campaign thrived thanks to Square One. Their model wins races. Period.”
— Congresswoman Lauren Underwood
